This is a wonderful stand that had been in the family for ages. It belongs to an organist that played for the local churches for years and year. Now liquidating her belongings as she is in an apartment, this is a treasured possession that will go to someone that really wants this fine piece of furniture. The Doors have a mechanism inside that, when you open one door, the other opens exactly at the same time. You need only open one to have both swing open for you. Also t are four drawers that each measure about sixteen inches deep and thirteen inches wide and two inches deep. The Stand is a wonderful example of a time when sheet music was readily found in the homes of the victorian age, the piano was a staple in most homes and this type of stand was found in the better homes of the day. The antique stand has a wonderful mahogany finish that has a really rich patina. The stand measures Thirty Eight Inches tall and Sixteen inches wide and nineteen inches deep. We have taken many photos and we have paid ebay extra so that you can supersize them and scan every inch of the piece. The front doors open like barn doors so that you can easily access the sliding drawers inside. The inner drawers are deep enough to hold many stacks of sheet music. The feet are claw footed and the wood backing the knob is highly detailed and carved in the victorian fashion of the day. Overall good shape considering its age, does have some rippling on the front left door and some small marks but this is all to be expected with age. Please supersize all of the photos so you can see the beauty of this amazing piece of furniture from days gone by, and you can bring it to life again in your own home.
