We check emails with our cell phone, while on the road and will answer them by phone. Mahogany Secretary Breakfront by Maddox 's a great Mahogany China Breakfront Secretary, 1930's in age. This is a very handsome piece, styled in traditional Federal form. The top section has 2 center doors that open to 2 shelves and an open section on either side, each with 2 shelves as well. The base has a 4 drawer center, with a cabinet on either side. All Shelves have plate grooves can be used as bookcase or display. Drawer and door fronts are in a soft flame pattern. The Batwing hardware is all original. Drawers and doors, all work fine. The finish is original and in very good, overall condition and the color is very good. Finish is a soft sheen. T are some minor trim repairs. None stand out and are not issues. The drawers are dovetailed and the interior wood oak.This piece is 72" high, overall, 46" wide and 14" deep. READ ON! The top center drawer in the base is a secretary drawer, with a drop front writing area. The interior has a center door with letter slots on either side. The writing surface is in very nice condition. The desk is 27" high when opened. The writing surface is 15" deep form the center door. The Maddox tag is on the back. This is a beautiful breakfront, that has a real presence. It will easily sit with other mahogany. This is by Maddox. They are among the best in quality.
