This is a very pretty & functional Mahogany Side by Side Secretary Desk/Bookcase or Desk/Curio China Display Cabinet, dating to the early 1900's. The desk has a pull down flap and inside t are 'pigeon holes', shelves and a drawer for storing stationery etc., t is also a brown leather writing skiver attached to the inside of the flap. Under the desk compartment t are 2 doors, behind the doors is open storage space. The side by side bow fronted mahogany doors have cathederal design beading and inset glass panels. Inside t are 2 removable plate glass shelves in each compartment. This piece stands on very elegant, but substantial cabriole legs with ball & claw feet. Measurements: 46"wide x 17"deep x 47"high. In good condition, showing only light wear for it's age, this is a high quality cabinet, the finish is original and it has a warm rich patina, very nice!
