I am friends with Maigon Daga's family and they have asked me to help them sell his remaining studio pieces and personal family pieces. These are original and are direct from his collection and studio. Please check back as I will be adding pieces weekly. This piece is a Maigon Daga brown Bird with accents of the custom glaze. This piece is 3.75" tall and rock is 7" wide. This one is the on such a nice rock and is colored so well. Daga's animal works are quite sought after so is your chance to get an original that has not been outside his home or studio. This is signed by Daga. Maigon Daga emigrated from Latvia to Australia w he trained, then settled in the Minneapolis/St Paul area in the 1950s. Daga is recognized for his arts and crafts and modern forms as well as superior, organic, earth tone glazes. Maigon died in 2001. He will become more collectible as time goes on and he is recognized as a great American Potterist.
