One of the most prestigous porcelain manufacturers was, without a doubt, the early factory of Volkstedt. It was the first porcelain factory in Thuringia, Germany! In 1861, Karl Ens Senior bought the Volkstedt factory, gave it the name ENS and Co. His two famous porcelain designers were Edward Ens and his brother, Karl Ens Junior. In 1899, Karl Ens Junior left his father's company with his sons, and founded the porcelain factory of Karl Ens. The oldest Volkstedt porcelain factory was now the oldest porcelain factory. Karl Ens Junior designed and sculptured many of the pieces which are highly sought after by collectors. This piece is a majestic cockatoo with 13 inches in height, one of the largest exotic birds offered by this prestigious porcelain manufactury. It is in mint condition. We do not do business with UPS, and we don't buy from sellers who ship with UPS, due to continuous problems. Packing is extremely important to us. We do not overcharge for shipping to make a profit. We pack very well, as we would expect it from others. I ship usually via USPS Priority Mail, but larger items or media articles can be mailed via USPS Parcel Post or Media Mail. Please use the shipping calculator in the listing. Please note that Parcel Post or Media Mail can take significantly longer than Priority Mail. Mailing cost also varies based on location. I take pride in safe packing but always recommend insurance. Please note that I am not responsible for lost or damaged items once they have been shipped.
