Spectacular signed Steuben Majestic American Eagle designed by the late James Houston The ne plus ultra desk accessory for the legal eagle, MD or Phd. To honor special achievements, a fiftieth or sixtieth birthday...for the General's office, the Admiral's quarters, the Ornithologist's study...or your home. This stunning Eagle, created in the Steuben American tradition of excellence was designed by the late James Houston, famed Steuben designer of many of their most outstanding sculptures (including Arctic Fisherman, Excaliber, etc.). First produced in 1964, it has been in constant production since that time.
This gorgeous glass sculpture has no chips, no cracks, no dings, no base scratches and no scuffs--it is mint condition. This is NOT a handcooler, it is the largest Steuben Eagle measuring 12" wide by 6.5" high and weighing almost 3lbs. It's fine flannel storage bag is included, making this very giftable. I have set a fair starting bid + no hidden reserve auction for this terrific Steuben sculpture that is in show room condition. Steuben Glass is the premier American glass company founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. It ranks with Baccarat, Lalique, Daum, Orrefors and Tiffany as one of the worlds foremost artisan glass houses. Steuben glass continues to be hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY. Because it is hand made, each piece is unique. Steuben glass is frequently the United States' gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben markets no "seconds". Items that do not meet their exacting production standards are destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben is a luxury brand and they have no "sales."
