MAJOLICA Sardines Lidded Dish Mid 1800's
This is a lovely antique majolica Sardine Dish attributed to Adams and Bromley, an English pottery company who produced earthen-wares and majolica of great quality from 1864 to 1873. Many of their majolica pieces were not marked. The lid has three colorful sardines lying on a bed of greens, one serving as the lid handle. The lid measures 6.25 inches by 5.50 inches. There is no damage to the top other than a tiny nick on the inside inner rim of the top. The bottom measures 8.5 inches by 8.0 inches. One corner of the bowl has been damaged and professionally repaired (see picture). There is crazing inside the bowl. Colors are green, gold and tan and the blue-gray color on the sardines. Please email with any questions. Buyer to pay S/I. I have other pieces of majolica listed. Thank you for looking.
