This week, we have a few more select pieces of Majolica from a collector downsizing a Majolica collection. Up for auction is this stamped Minton Majolica Tower Jug with Jester Finial. The base has the number "531" stamped below the Minton stamp. The jug is approximately 13 inches from base to the top of the jester's cap. It measures 8 inches from handle to spout. The base is approximately 5 inches in diameter. The body of the jug has the appearance of a tower with light grey detail with the texture of stone. The top and the bottom of the jug has an intertwined twig design with viv green ivy leaves with mustard colored nuts or berries. The handle continues the twisted twig design with green leaf detail. T are four figures, two men and two women, around the body of the jug dancing in celebration. T is pewter colored metal which holds the lid of the jug in place. The lid has a darker grey design remeniscient of a shell. On the lid, sits the finial in the shape of a jester's head. The interior of the jug and the lid are vivid green. The interior is completely colored and glazed. Please note the following conditions: we see a very small chip at the base which is only partially visible when the jug is upright.
