This Print from the Venerable Adachi Publisher - This beautiful reprint is from the famous Tokyo publisher Adachi, one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Adachi prints were printed to the highest standards of quality with excellent color and fine detail. The Adachi woodblock printers were known to be the best in the business. The Adachi group also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images. All Adachi prints are sealed with a decorative, embossed seal reading "Adachi" in roman characters indicating the print meets Adachi's high quality standards. This print is sealed with the Adachi seal.

Comments- A beautiful piece by Hiroshige designed at the height of his woodblock career. A large black Japanese ox is trying to take shelter under the wispy branches of the peach tree in the light rain. In the upper right, the five character verse reads; "grasses of the field lie under the fog, I come back from the peach garden in rain". The colors of the stream match the colors of his mane, creating a symmetrical composition. The lovely pink of the blossoms further adds to the tranquil scene, a lovely print that would make a good choice for a collector.
