SHOULD READ This is a fossilized 1 5/8" x 1 11/16" x 1 5/8"(just under), Mako sharks teeth, on adjustable(17"-32") leather, necklace. W it as a choker or pendant style...it's a lot of leather. Three solid Makos with no major flaws. This is the classic arrangement of a left hand slant, right hand slant and symetrical lower principal in the middle. Imagine how many teeth you have to go through to be able to match up size, color, quality, shape, etc.. The beads are 1 1/2" hornpipes and 5mm gunmetal spacers. I've got a lot of teeth in stock right now. All the most common species and some of the more exotic ones; in lot's of sizes and qualities. I tend not to put the best teeth in jewelry but I have lot's of "collector" teeth in my store and in my wharehouse, ok garage, let know what you're looking for. My necklaces go from a simple leather cord, to more uncommon materials. The leather alone can sometimes cost more then some of the other necklaces you'll see...compare. My goal is to create the best shark tooth necklaces anyw Over the years of doing this I've discovered my wire work is superior to most of the other stuff out t A few of the many reasons are listed below. Simplicity-I don't use "design elements" in my work. The little kinks or twists you sometimes see can unkink or untwist. This will lead to a loosening of the setting or wrap. I don't use what I call the "bird nest" design either. Seems like some sellers think if they use enough wire that it "should" hold the tooth. I use as little wire possible to get the job done. The tooth is the star not my wire technique. Practicality-Take notice of the front; the two side loops go over the top of the third wire crossing the face of the tooth. This creates a cinching type of effect and makes it impossible for the tooth to slip out. Detail-The coil is tight, tucked and finished. It seems like in 90% of wire wrapped sharks teeth the wire is cut off at the top of the coil. It's easier, faster and you don't risk accidentally cutting any other part of the wrap. I finish the coil at the bottom and tuck the loose ends under the coil. Not only is this more aesthetically pleasing but it has a practical purpose too. You don't have to be concerned about a piece of wire catching on your clothes, skin or wearing away at the cord your tooth is on. The necklace itself is both familiar and unlike anything on Ebay. I use leather. It's simple, supple and natural. I use a high quality finished, 2mm strand and 4mm braided leather cord. Sure it costs more but it smells good. I like natural materials bone, horn, shell, ivory, coral and stone. I also use metal and glass, primarily African Trade Glass. Made by Europeans and traded to Africans, as long as two hundred years ago, for wood, gold, ivory, etc. I don't use plastic, acrylic or its polymer cousin Fimo. Fimo beads are sometimes an attemp to copy the rustic feel of African trade glass. WHY BUY FROM ME Quality, as explained above and in the feedbacks below. Please read them.
