What a nice piece of vintage advertising! And this 15" ruler has a lot of information packed onto it - on the front, besides the ruler itself, is the same image on both ends, a stove in the center with a woman on one side and a man on the other. I'm not sure what he's doing but it looks like he's about to take a swing at the stove! Underneath it reads 'The South Bend Range, All - Ways Preferable'. The center of the ruler has a cute jingle, "For Bread and Pies and Choicest Cake; For Roasts and Stews and a Nice Broiled Steak - the Preferred Range Suits All the Best - 'Cause Satisfaction is the Test". And then beneath that is "The Only Range Made With Patented Keystone Copper-Bearing, Aluminum-Fused Rust-Proof Flues, Made ONLY by THE MALLEABLE STEEL RANGE MANUFACTURING COMPANY, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, U.S.A." It had to be 15" long because they couldn't have gotten all that on a 12" ruler! On the back there are six images of different stoves, (they're beautiful), the image from the front with the man and woman is repeated and more print - "THE MOST ECONOMICAL, DURABLE AND SATISFACTORY RANGE MADE. In use in over a Quarter of a Million Homes. Made in the Largest Exclusive Range Plant in the World".
