Postmark Cover Very Badly foxed Opened at right side and partly bottom right Nevertheless an Unusual and Interesting Piece of Postal History HMS Flora (1895) This, the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Flora, was a 2nd Class, protected Cruiser. Built at Pembroke Dockyard, laid down 1891, launched 21-Nov-1893 and completed 1895. On completion remained at Devonport in reserve 1895-96. Used for trooping duty to Australia 1896-97, then Flagship on the South America Station 1898-1901. Returned to the UK at Devonport 1901-02. To the pacific Station 1902-04, returned to the UK 1904-05 and final active duty was to the China Station 1905-13. Returned to the UK and placed on the disposal list. 1914.
