"The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway. Published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1952. Winner of the 1953 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. First book club edition, despite the "A" on the copyright page. Also lacks the Scribner's seal on the copyright page and mentions the Kingsport Press, a book club publishing company. Small 8vo [6" x 8"], 140 pp. With its original dust jacket which states "book-of-the-month club" and lacks a price. The jacket is in very good condition. Minor chipping and tearing to the edges, hinges and flap folds. Light foxing at the bottom edges of the flaps. The book is in very good to very good plus condition. The light blue cloth boards are well preserved with slightly bumped corners. Some sunning to the spine but the silver lettering remains vivid and clear. Minor foxing to the fore-edge of the textblock. The textblock is clean, tight, and bright. Please view the many other rare titles available for purchase at our store.
