VERY RARE HAND SIGNED MATCH WORN MANCHESTER UNITED SHIRT "This is Mike Phelan's shirt, assistant manager and former player of Manchester United" It was either worn or issued to Mike Phelan in the Season 1993-1994. My dad bought it in a charity auction at a Sportsman’s dinner at Ashton-Under-Lyne Masonic hall in 1993 or 1994, I think Mike Phelan was the after dinner speaker or a guest there. I don’t think they had certificates of authenticity in those days but I welcome any inspections. I listed this shirt last week on ebay as just a normal retail signed shirt. I was originally offered £300 for the shirt then £500 later on, an ebayer then very kindly pointed out that there was an error in the listing and that this was in fact a match worn, team issued shirt. I sent him photos of the shirt and he could tell straight away it was no replica. The difference between the shirts is that the Manchester United badge and Umbro badge are embroidered on whereas on the retail shirts they are they are an embossed rubber type material. It is an XLarge shirt with Phelan and the number 23 on the back. It is in mint condition and is one of the classic Umbro Manchester United shirts with Sharp as the sponsor.
