Mandalian Enamel Baby Mesh Purse

This lovely Mandalian (marked on the interior of the frame) baby armor mesh purse has an ornate design painted in pink, black and ivory enamel. The body of the purse hangs from a goldtone frame with a floral pattern that has pierced work to enhance the intricate details. There is a ball and socket-type clasp that when closed appears to be another flower surrounded by two birds. The frame and clasp is in good working order but there is wear to the goldtone finish and the base silver metal shows through on the slightly raised areas of the design. However, this is not offensive and looks as if it was meant to be that way since the wear is very even all along the frame. The enamel is in very good condition and I see only a very few mesh pieces with wear. There are a couple under one of the hinges (which is quite typical) and an occasional piece close to the frame. Because the pattern is very busy these few mesh pieces are only noticeable upon very close examination. The purse is finished with a sawtooth edge along the bottom that has metal pink enamel metal drops hanging from each point. A tiny piece of wire, that hold the mesh to the frame, is missing from the very last hole near one hinge. This too is not noticeable and the mesh is very secure to the frame otherwise. Because of all the questions I am asked, I tend to emphasize any minor flaws in my antique purses, but I want all customers to know that my purses are of the highest quality I can obtain and I stand behind my merchandise and try never to offer anything for sale that is of poor condition. This purse measures 8 long (minus the clasp) and 4 1/4 wide. There is no lining
