The mandolin can be played both acoustically or with an amplifier for electrified performance. The model features a mahogany top, mahogany back/sides and a rosewood fingerboard. The built in single coil pickup and the dual volume and tone controls are very similar to an electric guitar and as such work with a standard guitar amplifier. Features: Green Sunburst Mahogany Top Mahogany Back/Sides Maple Neck Rosewood Fingerboard/Floating Bridge I bought this mandolin new at the end of last year to learn to play. I enjoyed it so much and progressed so well I have just upgraded to a better instrument leaving this one redundant. It is an ideal instrument for somebody who just wants to try a mandolin for the first time and see if they take to it. I certainly did. This mandolin sounds good, acoustic or electric. For a low end instrument it is well made and has good quality, sturdy hardware. It would benefit from a professional set up which your local music store could do for you. It is in the same condition as I bought it, which included a light, barely visible scratch across the bottom of the scratch guard. read more
