Many years ago, I owned and operated a general line antique shop. Recently, I uncovered some items I had "put away" when the shop closed its doors. I have no reason to keep any of these things, so I'm offering them to any interested party. Rod L'Italien I believe this is the earlier variety of a 7" student lamp made by The Manhattan Brass Co. The difference being a cast shade ring with the post and socket attachment vs. an over the gallery type. The other difference is the finials on the drip cup and reservoir, both of these are pictured in Student Lamps of the Victorian Era . This is my favorite of the two varieties. This lamp is all original and complete. All of the oil components are present and working freely. I polished this lamp myself and uncovered three tiny pinhead dings, which I felt were too small to push out. It is free of stress cracks and other flaws. The lamp is not lacquered and will regain patina over time or it can be hand polished once a year. It is shown with a period opal, milk glass shade. This will be listed separately, it is not included with this lamp! It comes with an authentic 1-7/8" x 10" chimney which is signed: P.G.Co. Favorite Lead Flint. The lamp holds a 7" fitter shade and is 12" at its widest point. It is 22-1/2" tall.
