Early 19th C, French gilt figural mantel clock, eight day time and strike brass movement with enamel dial, decorated on one side with woman in flowing dress reading book, the other side has a globe topped column, the top has books and wreath with urn finial and protractor, front is decorated with books and griffins. The bottom is decorated with column and floral swag with urn center, rectangular base with gadroon top, sets on four round decorated feet, 16''H x 12''W x 5''D, old face enamel chipped and cracked. From a Tenants Harbor, Maine home.
