Mantua HO 2-6-2 Prairie Loco, Can Motor & ExtrasFor your consideration, a Mantua Prarie undecorated HO Steam loco built up from a kit. This loco has been run enough to test the mechanism and valve gear. The original motor is replaced with a new late model can motor from Mantua. I added a "hot" draw bar with multiple positions so you can set the distance between the engine and tender according to your track. The pilot axle is a NWSL wheel set so all of the engineers's side wheels pick up.The front coupler is a Kadee 58, the rear is a number 5. Both are insulated from the frame so they want short out to other metal frame steam engines.The locomotive boiler and cab have a fresh gloss black paint job with a red cab roof. I just stripped the tender so it is natural black. I had decaled the tender for my own line but cleaned it off so it is ready for your railroad. T are some paint nicks on the valve gear and cylinders from handling but some light weathering on the running gear will take care of that.This is a very smooth running and quiet locomotive. These are tough little engines that take well to detailing and customization and will be great for branchline, logging or heavy switching.
