Description: Paul Thiebault, (born 14 December 1769 in Berlin and died on 14 October 1846 in Paris), was a famous French Napoleonic era General, regarded as the leading theoretician of military staff work. His publications being studied not only by the French but also by British and Prussian officers during and after the Napoleonic wars ! This is a very early and extremely rare copy of one of his most well regarded works that he revised and updated in 1813 under the title "Manuel general du service des etats-major généraux et divisionnaires dans les armées".
