You are looking at a Mappe of the World as of 1628.

This gold metal painted mappe shows the discoveries of Sir Frances Drake, Ferdinand Magellanus, Mr. Thomas Cavendish and Oliverus VanderNoort. They are encircled by a brown wooden border measuring 30" from top to bottom and 44" wide. It has gold drawings and embellishments depicting the eclipse of the moone, the eclipse of the sunne, fire, water, earth and ayre. The print is caligraphy style and is representative of the spellings and printings of 1628. T is a gold metal strip across the stop that states "A new and accurate mappe of the world, drawne according to the latest discoveries - 1628".
