Okay marble collectors, I'm going to take a shot at auctioning a few dozen marbles from the marble bag I had when I was a kid and I have no idea if any are worth offering as singles or if I'm getting the terminology right. I won't even attempt to name companies or grade them although I will describe wear and damage as accurately as possible. Don't be shy about asking questions or sharing your knowledge with me. These marbles were acquired forty or more years ago so I doubt if any were polished to enhance their value to modern collectors, but I've never seen a marble that I know to have been polished so I can't make any guarantees except to say that I never did anything to any of them. is my understanding of some terminology:"Pinpricks" are the tiny holes with rounded edges that often happen in production."Fleabites" are tiny post-production surface flakes"Sparkles" are tiny post-production interior fractures-not aventurine."Surface flakes" are craters on the surface caused by play wear."Melt marks" are smooth ridges on the surface were the glass flowed during production."Impact marks" are from when one marbles hits another causing fracture, but no glass loss ("moons"?)-they can be interior or on the surface."Peewees" measure one half inch or under. This looks like a 9/16" green, red, and white shrunken core onionskin with a few pinpricks read more
