This lot, A MARBLE CONSIGNMENT , consists of a 43/64" (17 mm) hand made "Striped Solid Core" (ca. 1850-1870) in Mint - (9.1) condition with a tiny as-made pit, as well as a touch of wear (examined, as always, under 20-power magnification with strong lighting). It has a cage of outer white strands spiraling around a tornadic yellow solid core with pink stripes. The basal pontil is ground with faceting, the finishing style of the earliest hand made glass marbles.
