All of the art work there came from just three amazing sources. First - The personal collection of N.C. Wyeth's Granddaughter, (Andrew Wyeth's niece) and listed artist in her own right, Ann Brelsford McCoy, or Anna B. as her family calls her. Second - Art from the personal collection of Irwin & Anita Schorsch, prominent antiques & art collectors, whose items from their Hidden Glen Farms just sold at Sotheby's in January of this year for $10,262,129, (Yes, over 10 million dollars!!). and Third - A large collection from Listed Bucks County Pennsylvania artist Helena Beacham. We ended up with over 200 pieces of this amazing art and yes, we are listing them all right here on eBay with just a 99 cent starting bid and no reserve. Check back daily, see what else is going up!! In this auction we have a "Sketch of Swan Lake" lithograph in color, pencil signed along the lower right by the listed and desirable artist...keep scrolling there are 17 pictures and more description beneath the photos below!Marc Chagall! Found along the verso is a Certificate of Authenticity that was included with the print by The National Art Guild, George Kopel, dated June 7th, 1988. Marked along the CoA, this is "The Ceiling Of The Paris Opera Book, Frederick Praeger, Publisher / Published in France 1966" edition. We examined this print inside the glazed frame and we found no apparent defects. The lithograph appears not laid down and has slipped slightly in the frame seen mostly along the lower left. Matted, glazed and framed the artwork measures approx. 19-3/4" by 16-3/4" with a sight size of 9-1/2" by 12-1/2". Be sure to scroll through our many photos to capture all the details! The fine art sale did not tell us which of the three estates this piece came from, so we do not have definite provenance, but close! Fresh from an assemblage of fine art and the perfect addition to any Chagall collection! Chagall as found on wiki: Marc Zakharovich Chagall (6 July 1887 - 28 March 1985) was a Russian-French artist. An early modernist, he was associated with several major artistic styles and created works in virtually every artistic medium, including painting, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, ceramic, tapestries and fine art prints. Art critic Robert Hughes referred to Chagall as "the quintessential Jewish artist of the twentieth century" (though Chagall saw his work as "not the dream of one people but of all humanity"). According to art historian Michael J. Lewis, Chagall was considered to be "the last survivor of the first generation of European modernists". For decades, he "had also been respected as the world's preeminent Jewish artist". Using the medium of stained glass, he produced windows for the cathedrals of Reims and Metz, windows for the UN, and the Jerusalem Windows in Israel. He also did large-scale paintings, including part of the ceiling of the Paris Opéra. Before World War I, he traveled between St. Petersburg, Paris, and Berlin. During this period he created his own mixture and style of modern art based on his idea of Eastern European Jewish folk culture.
