Margaret Hicks, white roses still life, oil, listed Finely rendered impressionist still of white roses. Painting is an oil on canvas panel. Measures 8 x 10" with frame, 16 x 18". Painting is in excellent condition; frame has a few dings. Signed LR "Margaret Hicks";annotated verso, "Roses From My Garden, Oil, N.F.S. Margaret Hicks". Estimate age to be post 1980s or so. A search on Google produced a bio from Wikipedia stating "Margaret Turner Hicks (September 28, 1923 – August 3, 2006) was a world-renowned producer and promoter of Miniature Art. She followed her Army officer husband to his overseas assignments, studying art in Germany, teaching in American schools abroad and tutoring soldiers. When the family settled in Washington, D.C., she taught school for a year and then became a full-time artist.
