These vintage Margot de Taxco Earrings have to be some of the most beautiful she ever designed, they are simply stunning. A very rare and seldom seen design, they are crafted in a beautiful combination of heavy sculpted Sterling Silver and vivid turquoise blue Enamel. Margot called this design "Leaf and Scroll" and it is featured along with the design's original drawing in the book "Margot Van Voorhies, The Art of Mexican Enamelwork" by Penny Morrill on page 16. The Earrings measures approximately 1 1/4" long by 7/8" at the widest point and together they weighs 13.4 grams. Hallmarked as shown above "Margot de Taxco 5389" on one earrings and "Silver Made in Mexico" with the eagle stamp 16 on the other. They are in good original vintage condition ~ the silver is ding/dent free with some tarnish, the enamel is in fine original condition and the screw backs work well. These are very elegant and beautiful Earrings, and a important and rare example of Margot de Taxco's artistry and skill.
