This gorgeous vintage Margot de Taxco Necklace is one of her most sought after designs and is featured in many books on Fine Mexican Silver Jewelry including the book devoted to her work "Margot van Voorhies The Art of Mexican Enamelwork" by Penny C. Morrill and is pictured on page 111, plate VI-26. Crafted in thick heavy silver repousse, it is a masterpiece of both design, construction and skill and a wonderful example of why collectors love Margot's work. With a distinctive Art Nouveau style, it measures 15" long by 5/8" wide and is quite heavy at 72.9 grams of sterling silver. Hallmarked "Margot de Taxco, Sterling Made in Mexico" with the eagle stamp 16 and the design number 5240. It is in good original vintage condition with no signs of damage or repair - the silver domes are ding/dent free (amazing on a piece this old) - it shows only minor signs of gentle wear and tarnish (we never polish!). It has a button topped push in clasp that keeps securely closed. A very elegant necklace with a fabulous Art Nouveau style, this stunning heirloom quality necklace is a Margot de Taxco classic that will thrill any collector of her very special jewelry.
