Charles Lapicque
Born on October 6, 1898 in Theizé, died on July 15, 1988 in Orsay (Essone). Lapique qualified as an engineer and worked in an academic post in Paris. He taught himself to paint and became a full-time artist. His painting and particularly his prints became very popular and admired and are collected world wide. They are made in very distinctive colors and can be described as 'abstract landscapes' In 1937 the medal of honor at the time of the International exhibition of Paris is decreed to him to the Palate of Discovered where it carried out for this occasion five monumental decorations.
