This 9-1/2" tall compass is 3-13/16" in diameter at its widest point (across the face). The compass card is about 1-7/8" dia. The adjustable prism has a sight atop it and gives a clear view of the compass card below. T is no damping fluid in it but I don't know of t ever was. The bottom section has a screw cap, slide switch and a battery compartment. The writing on the bezel clockwise from 12:00 is: a crown with what might be "JT" inside and "A.M." under it; "No 40624 H"; "TYPE 06A" and "6A/1248". It looks very military but t's no Navy marking that I can identify as such. The card rotates and finds north but not as freely as it should. It comes in a fitted wooden carry case that was made for it. It looks like it would be used in a small boat of some kind. FREE HANDELING! BUYER ONLY PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING COST. NO HIDDEN FEES. G Top
