Original 8x10-inch black-and-white glossy publicity photo / movie still was produced to promote the 1935 MGM horror film, MARK OF THE VAMPIRE, which starred Lionel Barrymore, Elizabeth Allan, Bela Lugosi, Lionel Atwill, Jean Hersholt, Henry Wadsworth, Donald Meek, Jessie Ralph, Ivan F. Simpson, Franklyn Ardell, Leila Bennett, June Gittelson, Carroll Borland, Holmes Herbert and Michael Visaroff. The film was directed by Tod Browning and written by Guy Endore. Lugosi plays a actor who is portraying a vampire -- cashing in on his success as Dracula a few years earlier. This photo is from the 1972 re-release of the film. However, this is an original studio-issued still -- NOT a copy or reproduction. Title information is printed on the lower border. The photo features a great shot of Bela Lugosi, Carroll Borland and others behind a giant cob web. Overall condition: EXCELLENT+/NEAR MINT..... The still has a single tiny pinhole in the middle of the top border, but otherwise, it is crisp and clean.
