Original, vintage 8x10 glossy MGM Art Department photo from the 1935 horror film, "Mark of the Vampire" directed by Tod Browning (the Lon Chaney "London After Midnight"; "Freaks"; "Dracula") starring Lionel Barrymore, Bela Lugosi (the Boris Karloff "The Black Cat"; the Lon Chaney / Vincent Price "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein"; "The Wolf Man"). This unique photo (probably only a handful ever made) was taken for reference purposes (note production slate by the table leg with director Browning's name as well as identifying the set as "Interior Baron's Bedroom"). Original studio embossed stamp "Property of Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer Studios Art Department" at the top middle (in the mirror), black grease pencil notation of "812" in the upper left corner as well as stamped "Mark of the Vampire Set" in black on reverse. Excellent condition. In our other auctions we have up several more set photos from "Mark of the Vampire" plus additional horror, sci-fi and fantasy photos and movie memorabilia.
