Beautiful Marquetry Picture - Very nice wood inlay ! This picture has been in my family for over 40+ years.....I do not know the exact age except that it is at least 40+ years old....possibly older. A Winter Scene of a Farm or Grist Mill (Water Wheel) with snow in the trees. Very pretty subject. The woods in this picture are very fine quality. I am not a wood expert, but to me, it looks like a combination of walnut, redwood, mahogany, maple, etc. This is just a guess....but there is a real variety of wood types and colors in this very fine quality and early example of Marquetry. I have included some close up photos so you can see the quality and detail of the wood. If you need more photos, tell me what specifics you need and I'll try to accommodate. The back of the picture is a solid wood that I think could be walnut. There is a picture hanger wire on the backside so this is ready to hang on your wall. Quality of the inlay and craftsmanship is excellent. Condition is very good. There is one small area along the upper left edge of the frame/border that has some minor dings (not sure what to call it since this is wood not metal). Hardly noticeable but I have included a close-up shot for your review. If you have any questions.....please ask. I will do my best to answer them quickly and completely.
