The Marrella is approximately 505 million years old. From Burgess Shale, British Columbia, Canada. Approximately 1/2 inch long, or 1.25cm.Made famous by Stephen J. Gould in "A Wonderful Life". Contributed to redefining the Theory of Evolution. The Burgess Shale fossils are preserved as highly-compressed films on the surface of the rock, with some 3-dimensional structure preserved. Some organic material is preserved on the surface, and this produces a highly reflective surface. After these 2 t are only 7 left.
