Marshall Plot Laurel Grove Cemetery Savannah Georgia Early Stereoview by Wilson circa 1880 Stereoview with handwritten caption on reverse, "No 28 Mrs Marshall's Lot Laurel Grove." Published by J.N. Wilson, 21 Bull St, Savannah. Born in New York, Jerome Nelson Wilson (1827-1897) came to Savannah at the end of April 1865 and immediately established himself as a photographer. He remained active at least through 1889. Daughter of a French cabinet-maker, Mary Marshall was a major Savannah landowner in the mid-19th century. She opened the Marshall House hotel on Broughton Street in 1851. Card measures 7 x 3.25 inches. Very good condition. This is one of over 50 stereoviews of Savannah I'll be auctioning this week.
