We are contracted to liquidate the estate of a lady who had the life-long dream of opening a children's museum. This doll, based on the handwritten note tucked inside the jacket identifies this as a Martha Jenks Chase Doll. (I've included a photo of the handwritten document.) He stands approximately 20" tall and is clearly hand made and painted. Note the unique method of defining his hair. Note the photo with the outer material coming off and the underlining. Note how he was put together. There are rubs here and there, and what looks like painting on his chest.His clothes are in fabulous condition. The coat is finely made with a lining. The shoes are not leather but do have a tie closure and buckle decoration in the front. Please look closely at the photos and ask questions.
