Here we have for sale my 150th anniversary edition martin D18 this is an extremely rare find I personally have never come across another in my time. The history : in early 1982 there was alot of talk and speculation about what martin were going to do for the up and comeing 150th anniversary year. They understood that this was a sereously special and notable time in the production of martin guitars. It was decided that in late 82 150 official anniversary guitars were to be made these were constructed at the custom shop in the fall of 82 and marked inside with a sticker (150th year) and the number written on that stamp, the stamp was also personally signed by the owners of martin at that time (martin 1V and martin V ) an official 150th year anniversary embossed stamp was also made up and the inside wood bracing of the guitard were stamped woth this logo also. As there were so few of these guitars made quite afew (around 30-60) were snapped up by martin employees at the time so these are a SEREOUSLY RARE find and i have never even heard of anyone who knows anyone who has ever came across one! The embossedamp which the officail 150th anniversary models were stamped with was retained by the production line and in the spring of 1983 the first 150 D18's to come off the production line were embossed with this stamp.
