This is a signed Martin Hardie etching of fishermen tending to their boats, and equipment, at a period of low tide. Nearby, a child, the next generation of fishermen, is accompanied by a maternal figure as he inspects an up-turned boat in the shadow of an impressive-looking building. Hardie was an important English etcher, who learnt etching techniques under Sir Frank Short. Both the British Museum and the V & A include Martin Hardie’s work. This is signed in the bottom right-hand corner. It is currently simply mounted, but not framed or glazed, and would benefit from sympathetic framing. The plate-marks can be felt around the edges. The print itself measures approx. 10.75 x 6.75 in. (27 x 17 cm.). For any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will do my best to answer your query. Post & packing in UK £3.00, overseas £5.00. Please note that feedback will be left once received, as fewer purchasers appear to be leaving feedback. Thank you.
