MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. at the pulpit. Hard plastic with articulation at the shoulders, 6" tall. Comes with a cassette tape of King's August 28, 1963 "Dream" speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. I haven't listened to the tape in years, but I assume it still plays. This is one of a series of figures that was to come from Olmec Toys in the early '90's. I remember the original packaging telling me to watch for the Malcolm X figure. I never saw it, and don't know if it exists. Olmec Toys was founded by Yla Eason, an MBA from Harvard and former journalist. Eason created Olmec Toys in 1985 when "she couldn't find a black super hero for her son." Here's a super hero for everyone. This figure has been displaye d in my home since I bought it new. It is in excellent condition. There is no original packaging other than the cassette wrapper shown below.
