~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ vintage pellicano bottle ~~~~~~~~~~~~ very cool figural bottle in the shape of a pelican ingesting a fish. molded clear glass. t seems to be a seam of sorts down the pelican back, through the head... but doesn't appear to go all the way to spout. does go all the way to bottom. original decals... two pelican eyes. the fish body... one on each side. and bottom band. bottom band reads Martini e Rossi twice and the word Torino. which, of course, means Turin, w the company is still located. Have no idea how old this is. The graphics suggest late 1800s/early 1900s, but Please don't take that as accurate. I could find no information about either this product or this kind of bottle on the internet. No makers marks detected. Probably some sort of Aperitif, other Liqueur or Wine Bottle, probably not made with either real pelicans nor real fish. Condition? Fantastic. T are no chips, cracks, or dings in the glass. Yes, sigh, i fondled the pelican to make sure. eek. t.. i said it. Anyways, said pelican, gender unknown, has been given a very mild sponge bath to remove dust and such. However it is has not been rinsed out... because of the fragile nature of the paper, rather not take the chance of mangling it.
