For Crossgen it was Negation. For DC it was legion of Super-Heroes, especially the Great Darkness Saga. For Marvel it was Annihilation. Marvel has always had and explored a cosmic universe. They started as the alien villain who plague a hero and moved into their own live and breathing little storylines involving others heros like Silver Surfer or Quasar. The weird popularity of Captain Marvel and his death helped too. And then there's Thanos. If you're not a comic geek but are fans of the movies and they do Thanos just half-way right, you're in for something. Annihilation is the story that took all those cosmic character and put them up to almost Avengers level popularity . This is a Marvels Annihilation Complete Series Lot that starts from Annihilation: Prologue and ends with Conquest. Two stories related back to back your to own in 1st edition printings of the original comics.Drax The Destroyer 1-4: This is the official/unofficial prologue to the Annihilation Saga. It's included in trades and hardcover collections so I'm including it with this listing. Stop me if you heard this one, a prison ship full of the most dangerous alien criminals crash lands near a town in Alaska and havok ensues. Two of those prisoners are Fantastic Four villain Super Skrull and Drax the Destroyer. Drax is big, really strong and make the Hulk look like a Rhode's Scholar by comparison. He is murdered by Hulk villains the Blood Brothers than the other aliens decided to wreak a little havok on the human town. However Drax was created from the corpse of a dead human by cosmic powers and when he dies he regernerates. Each regeneration is different and the new Drax emerges a little smaller by extremely smart and cunning and pissed about being left for dead. Together with his human sidekick, Cami, Drax takes down the alien prisoners and looks for a way to get back to his one mission in life, kill Thanos.Annihilation: Somewhere out in space a wave of destruction is taking down major cosmic empires. Not everyone knows it yet because space is really) really) really big and except for the occasional encounter because of an Avengers story, the biggest empires are light years away from each other. By the time the Kree) Skull) Shi'ar and Xandarians realized what's happening the Annihilation Wave is right up on time. A vast armada with one purposed, destroy everything. Nova, Super-Skrull, Ronan the Accuser) Drax the Destroyer) Silver Surfer and even Thanos find themselves suddenly put on the front lines together with one purpose, stop the same Annihilation Wave that beat and captured Galactus. The complete 30 issue set of Annihilation is available in this lot .Annihilation Nova Conquest: The Kree are rebuilding after the devastating results of the Annihilation invasion and have hired Peter' Quill, former Starlord, to upgrade their computer systems. But the upgrade has an unexpected result . Every machine in the Kree empire suddenly becomes a sentient weapon of death including their army of giant sentry robots who have declared war on their builders. The Phalanx have arrived and they planed to convert everything in their path . Who are the Phalanx? Think of the children of a Terminator/ Borg romance, the pretty much describes the Phalanx.
