Marvel trade stimulator from the late 1930's, early 1940's. The reels are in the motif of cigarette packs from that era. This is a non-coin operated version, designed to avoid gambling laws by not requiring a coin to be inserted. With this machine, the player would pay the store owner or operator directly, spin the wheels, and if the same cigarette packs lined up the player would win a token -- usually redeemable for a pack of cigarettes or other merchandise. The machine is in excellent condition, including the graphics on the reels. The reels turn smoothly and reliably. T are signs of wear on the label, visible in the photo. The body is a hammertone blue, likely a repaint, but a pretty good job. T is a lock on the back door to access the mechanism and coin box, and that lock has a key. T is a key on the side which zeros out a counter which keeps track of plays. Payoffs are in the form of a token, which does not leave the machine but which appears in a window on thre side of the machine (see photo). T are tokens in the machine. After the owner/operator verified the win by viewing the token, he could clear the token by pushing the plunger on the lower left side of the back of the machine (see photo). The cigarettes depicted on the reels are Chesterfield, Lucky Strike, Pall Mall, Raleigh, Spud, Camels and Old Gold. ADDED 8/4/20 read more
