Here is a neat old Marx train set that runs great. This is an 0-27 tin plate set that is all metal except for the plastic knuckle couplers. I will describe each item as honestly as I can. I value my 100% positive feed back rating, and I will do my best to ensure your satisfaction with your purchase. This is an assembled set, that is, there are two different tank cars. The locomotive is the 494 type with double reduction gearing. It runs great forward and reverse with working head light. It has obvious play wear, but it is still in good condition. The New York Central #551 tender is nice, but has some play wear. There are two different tank cars, but both have the same number (553). One is a Sante Fe Middle States Oil car and the other is a UTLX Union Tank Car Co. car. Both are in very good condition, but the wheels on the UTLX car are tarnished. The #20102 New York Central caboose is in good shape but has play wear and the wheels are tarnished. There is a good/very good #709 50 watt transformer. The original power cord was cracked, so I replaced it with a new (modern) cord. It is soldered in just like the original. Looks good, works fine. There are 8 curved and 4 straight track sections.
