This is an old Marx 897 tin wind-up locomotive steam engine in "O" gauge. The color appears to be a very deep green that is nearly black in color. The Key is with it and the engine clockwork spring winds ok and turns the wheels, however, the on-off lever does not stop the wheels from turning. **Revised** A great fellow eBayer pointed out that I needed to move the lever up and down and presto, it runs forward, stops or reverses. I do not know if this is a reversing engine or not but moving the start stop lever does not reverse the wheels. The workings need a good cleaning and oiling. It is in played with condition with various scratches, paint rubbed off high spots and scuffs. Nice little engine about 9" long but not in pristine condition.
