1938 tin lithograph windup toy By Louis Marx for Walt Disney Enterprises DOPEY One of the 7 dwarfs from "Snow White." Working condition SIZE: Dopey is 8 and 1/2 inches tall at its highest point and 2 and 1/2 inches wide at the base. CONDITION: Very good plus. Rarely do you see a tin toy of this vintage without a spot of rust. Lithograph is bright as new. There are a few minor scratches on the body and chips on the white of the eyes from the action of the toy, which "walks" forward with a waddling motion while its eyes roll up and down. The key is present and the mechanism in working order. NOTE: This does NOT come with a box. ABOUT THE TOY: Dopey is one of Disney's most endearing characters. His charm is captured beautifully in the action of this toy. This Dopey has a lavender cap. Most reportedly came with gray caps and this is said to be a limited edition. This toy came from a CT shoreline estate with many well-preserved items that obviously were treasured and protected. ShipSaver
