LOUIS & MARX TWO TINPLATE SCALE 8-WHEEL BOXCARS NEW YORK CENTRAL PACEMAKER PAINT NUMBER 174580 TILT COUPLERS ONE NEEDS WORK! Here are two Marx eight-wheel metal tinplate boxcars lettered for New York Central and numbered 174580. They measure over 8 by nearly 3 by 2 inches in length, height and width respectively. They have type B trucks and metal wheels and the metal automatic-tilt couplers have working springs. Both cars have some play wear on the sides of the car and track wear on the wheels as the photos show. One end of the roof walk on each car was slightly bent and there is some surface rust at the bend. They needs a good exterior cleaning to remove the dust. There is minor surface rust on the axles and the silver paint on the trucks is turning brown as shown in the photos. One car is rougher that the other as the photos show. The body is loose at the end and bottom, there is tape on the underframe and is missing a door. It could be an nice parts donor. The photos tells the tale! Please look at the photos closely and make sure this is what you want before bidding as it is sold as-is unless I seriously misrepresent the item. Feel free to ask me questions about this item before you bid!
