Pin: 2 1/2" x 1 1/2"....Illustrated Backing Card: 3" x 3"....Limited Edition of 500....Made in China for Walt Disney Imagineering....�Disney....Released in June, 2006 Walt Disney loved Mary Blair's art, and she was a major force in color use and design at Disney through her work in the 1940's and early 50's on The Three Caballeros , Song of the South , So Dear To My Heart , Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan . After leaving the Walt Disney Studios in the early 1950's, she worked independently on the east coat, returning to Disney in 1963 at the personal request of her former boss to supervise the overall design of It's A Small World at the 1964 New York World's Fair (and eventually Disneyland). It was at this time that Walt Disney asked Mary to design a Small World -inspired ceramic tile wall mural for the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. This successful installation in the children's waiting area proved to be a "dress rehearsal" for her next work: two similar but massive murals to decorate the entryway into Disneyland's all-new Tomorrowland of 1967.
