~WELCOME to Granny Fannys' Attic~ A note of thanks to old and new buyers/ friends who have made made it possible for me to share some of the finest antique textiles available on eBay. I am proud of my 6400+ total feedbacks, a long list of loyal bidders and a reputation for honesty, quality, integrity and love for what I do so experience the best and share my passion! It would not be possible if it weren't for all of you! Thank you ~ and ~ as my impeccable selling history speaks for itself! Chrisanne One of several magnificent Mary Card pieces I will be listing~ all from my private collection, all Museum quality from the 1910s to early 30s. I purchased the entire collection from the estate of a woman who made photo pieces originally in Australia for Mary card for Needlecraft magazine, The Modern Priscilla and Mary Card Pattern publications and then moved to Nashville to do the same for Anne Orr~ a native~ and this rare unused linen and deep lace cloth is done in the rarest and most complex of all of her patterns~ the Mary Card "Woodlands" pattern~ a work of textile art and rare find~ a masterpiece in filet crochet! All items I sell are in ready to use condition and any flaws will be clearly stated.I take great care in my selection and preparation for sale so I am confident you will be pleased with the items I offer. I always presoak, launder and press all items so I know the exact condition and reflect that in my listings. NO SURPRISES!!! Most of the items I will offer are from estates or I have purchased them in Europe, as I travel extensively and I try my best to reflect age and description accurately. Thanks and visit again. This visual masterpiece is both delightful and aptly named~ a pictorial of sorts and the longer you look the more nature you find. There are deer, rabbits, squirrel, fox and more amoung the most beautiful flora and fauna! A rare find in exquisite never used condition, this cloth was featured in several magazines as well as Mary Card's own pattern publications and and is the most detailed of her "giant chart" patterns. The delicate fine guage white cotton thread used creates a lace appearance with tiny stitches that create the exceptional detail her patterns were revered for ~ and though fragile looking to the eye the hand work is amazingly strong and sound~ made to last many lifetimes! The crochet measures a full 21" deep at the deepest corners and the overal measurement is about 49x49". It is snow white, very clean and near flawless with one thread break that needs to be reattached~ Museum Quality and condition. This pattern and her "Aquarium" pattern are her most complex by far and extremely rare. There are very few of Mary Cards pieces left that are not in Museums or private collections and you will likely never see another done in this pattern. It is a beautiful piece of textile history~ a must for the serious collector~ absolutely priceless! *** My linens are labours of love and I take great pride in offering the finest selection, condition and variety of unique and special pieces. Enjoy all of my lovely linens, laces, trims and other unique treasures by Thanks!~ ~GOOD BIDDING~
