This katana was 100% hand forged, heat tempered, water quenched, hand polished, and hand sharpened. Sword was hand made in Longquan, China by the Masahiro sword forge. This katana sword is a full tang, fully functional, battle ready, live steel, hand made sword.
Specifications: Nagasa Type: Shinogi-Zukuri style blade. (shape of blade) Nagasa: 28.25 inches. (blade length) Mune: Ihori. (back edge of blade is two sided) Hamon: Differential Tsunami Wave. Kissaki: Chu. (medium length tip) Mekugi: Two. (bamboo peg used to secure Tsuka to Nakago) Mekugi-ana: Two. (Hole for the Mekugi) Tsuka: 12 Inches. (handle length) Tsuba: Metal. Shape: Round. Description: Sunburst. Mei: Signed by sword smith. (Smiths signature on Nakago) Menuki: One located on each side of Tsuka. (Decorative pieces fitted above the Same & under the Ito on the Tsuka to enhance grip on the sword) Habaki: Copper. (blade collar) Seppas: Copper. (spacers) Ito: Black Cotton & Wrapped. (Cotton, Silk, or Leather braid used to wrap the Tsuka over the Same) SameÂ': Ray Skin. (belly portion of stingray skin used on top of the wooden Tsuka & below the Ito) Saya: Black, Wood, & Lacquered. (scabbard) Comments: Hand Forged 1050 Carbon Steel. Water quenched.
