Clay Tempered Differentially Hardened 40-60 with slight variations. Sword Smith allowed the forged blade to cool, then applies clay to the back or spine of the blade, then re-heats to 1500 degrees right before quenching in water. This is a 100% hand forged "Iron Wrapped Steel" katana sword. This sword has full blood grooves on both sides of the blade. Katana features black cotton ito and real ray skin same. This sword is full tang and can be fully disassembled. TANG SIGNED BY SMITH. This sword is rated superior for tameshigiri and will also work excellent for those seeking a katana for Iaido training. Katana is fully hand polished and fully hand sharpened. So please use caution. Sword comes with black cotton bag. This hand made forged Katana sword was made in Lonquan, China, by MASAHIRO. Blade Type: Katana Length: 28 inches. Shinogi-zukuri style blade. Tsuka Length: 12 inches. Sori: Tori, meaning curvature is at center of blade. Mune: Ihori, meaning back edge of blade is two sided. Hamon: True Clay Tempered Big & Small Wave. (Differential Wave VERY RARE) Mekugi-ana # of: Two, meaning # of bamboo pegs securing tsuka (handle) to tang. Mei: Signed by Sword Smith. Period: 20th century. Tsuba: Iron. Shape: Round. Description: Last Samurai Wheel. Period: 20th century. Fuchi/Kashira: Metal. Period: 20th century. Menuki: One located on each side of Tsuka. Small symbols, meant to allow better grip. Habaki: Copper. Seppa's: Copper. Ito: Black, Cotton, & wrapped. Same': White Ray Skin. Saya: Black, Wood, & Lacquered. Comments: Hand Forged 1065 Iron Wrapped Carbon Steel. CLAY Tempered Differentially Hardened & Water Quenched. You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase this weapon.
