A superb and attractively posed 1/4-plate stereo daguerreotype of handsome young gentleman seated by small table with straw hat on it by important New York dagueretypist Meade Bros. famous for taking one of the very few daguerreotype of Daguerre when he visited him in France. Meade was originally in Albany,NY in 1842 and moved to 233 Broadway,NY in 1850. The fine case is Mascher's Improved Stereoscope,Philadelphia. Patent March 8th. 1852 and decorated with fine gold lettering. Case measures 3 3/4" x 4 3/4". These are two re-sealed daguerreotypes in excellent condition, far better than my photos.
